Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Royal College of Psychiatrists is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non accessible content

As this website is not fully compliant, the Royal College of Psychiatrists intends to re-develop this site over the next 12 months due to be completed by September 2021.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non compliance with the accessibility regulations

Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).

We plan to add text alternatives for all images by January 2021. When we publish new content we’ll make sure our use of images meets accessibility standards.

Some text lies over an image which fails colour contrast requirements and some instructive text lying over a background colour fails colour contrast requirements.

Disproportionate burden

This site also hosts SCORM 1.2 learning objects which have been developed over the last five years and these have not been tested fully. They were created with our best endeavours to ensure accessible content but if you cannot access this content for any reason, contact: minded@rcpsych.ac.uk.

How we tested this website

This website was last tested on 3rd August 2020. The test was carried out by Health Education England.
We tested a sample of pages (excluding SCORM 1.2 learning objects) from the main site to produce these results.
We tested our main website platform, available at https://mindedforfamilies.org.uk.
